A full six months before the next election, the Ontario PC Party has released their plan to get Ontario back on the right track. The Ontario PCs are the first party to release their plan and I am quite exited about it.

It’s called the People’s Guarantee.

The People’s Guarantee is the result of the most exhaustive and inclusive policy development process in the PC Party’s history. The process began in March 2016, and culminated in over 130 policy resolutions that were voted on and supported by party membership to form the basis of the plan.

The People’s Guarantee is recognition of the need for change that works for you, not the insiders.   Under the Premier’s watch, Liberal political corruption has flourished. 

Above all, the People’s Guarantee is a plan for you.

It is a clear expression of exactly what we will do if we win government. This includes the People’s Guarantee: five achievable measures we can take right now to make your life easier.

We will reduce income taxes for the middle-class by 22.5%. Making life more affordable is job number one for Patrick Brown and the Ontario PCs, and we will start by providing Ontario families with tax relief.

Second, we will introduce a new Ontario Child Care Refund that will cover up to 75% of your child care expenses.  Families with young children are struggling to find child care – and if they can find it, they struggle to pay for it. We will also continue to build 100,000 new child care spaces. By doing so, we will make child care both more attainable, and more affordable.

Third, we will fix Ontario’s broken hydro system and lower the average hydro bill by an additional 12%. Ontario families need real, lasting relief from high hydro bills.

Fourth, we will commit $1.9 billion over 10 years to mental health - the largest mental health commitment in Canadian provincial history.  Far too many people are slipping through the cracks. Ontario needs a comprehensive approach to mental health – it should be treated no differently than physical health.

Finally, we will end political corruption in Ontario. We need to restore trust in government and put hardworking families first. Patrick Brown and the Ontario PCs will bring accountability back to Ontario by introducing the first-ever Trust, Integrity, and Accountability Act.

But, in the end, platforms are just politicians’ words. The People’s Guarantee is different.

Patrick Brown has promised that if these measures are not enacted in the first mandate of an Ontario PC government, he will not seek a second. He’s signed his name to this guarantee, and I’m signing my name as well. Every single Ontario PC candidate from across the province will be doing the same, because we believe that our plan and Patrick Brown can get Ontario on the right track.

Under the Wynne Liberals you work harder, pay more, and get less. Patrick Brown has a plan for a better future - for you, and for your family. It’s time for change that works for you: the people, not the insiders.
